[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1286552] Re: No wifi after suspend

2014-04-24 Thread Andreas Hohenegger
My comment #41 above does not fully apply. It turned out that removing "iwlwifi" from SUSPEND_MODULES="" in /etc/pm/config.d/config (I had to add it in 13.10 in order to get it working) fixed the issue for me. However this seems to imply that unloading the driver will break wifi, even if network-ma

I figured that for me the error messages disappear if you set the SATA mode to 'Compatibility Mode' instead of 'AHCI' in the BIOS. Ubuntu still booted after this change. I could not find a relation to the Optimus Graphics switch as reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/88

I should have mentioned that I see the error message also if the NVidia Optimus BIOS option is disabled in contrast to what was reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/888764 . The error message is printed about every second even if the system does not freeze, so I can't

I can already say that dmesg prints many of the same error messages with the mainline kernel 3.12.0-031200-generic . I will report back in case I don't observe freezes anymore. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubunt

Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 13.10 I encounter kernel reseting SATA link in connection with temporary system freezes (KDE lags). Such a bug has previously been reported here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/888764 for the same hardware but older software. This behavior has al

I see this with Ubuntu saucy (Kernel 3.11.0-12-generic 64 bit.), on a Thinkpad T520 as well. This seems to happen when the system is under heavy workload and I experience system freezes at the same time (So it does seem to have a usability impact for me). [23391.818508] ata4: exception Emask 0x10

Indeed I didn't have this issue anymore after making various changes to the system including updates to mainline kernels. I can not tell if it is solved in the stock kernels though. I also cannot make tests because I am not working with this system anymore. You may consider it as 'works for me'. Th

I do see this kind of problem occasionally when resuming from suspend to ram and hibernate with the same thinkpad model. I cannot reproduce it reliably though, but it definitely happens if I suspend often enough. Kernel 3.8.0-27-generic from kubuntu ppa and also 3.8.0-27-generic- tuxonice from ppa.
