Folks, just enable the Proposed channel for the next four days (until
this is released into stable on the 5th). You can disable it again
afterwards. This is what I've been doing, and haven't run into this
issue again (or any other problems with Proposed).

@Jason: I ran fwts. It worked the first 7 times, and then crashed on
the 8th. So that's 12.5%. That seems about right given my experience.
I can never run the full 50 tests though, as whenever it crashes,
everything locks up.
I'm going to upgrade to 14.10, and see if it's any better, but is
I'm afraid I won't be able to as I need this machine to be stable, but I
can report back here once I upgrade to 14.10 (about a month after it's

Here's the top of the most recent logs where things appear to go wrong.
The log data I posted initially is more where things stop working. I'm
going to unplug the hub to see if that solves the problem. And I'll see
if I can test a newer kernel.

After leaving my workstation for a while, and then returning, my USB
keyboard and USB mouse stop working. Actually, all USB ports stop
working.

Spontaneously, the wireless connection stops working. That is, the
applet still shows that it's connected, but no traffic is going through.
