I've started experiencing this after an upgrade from 13.10 to trusty.
This significantly slows down both the initial boot and resuming from
suspend (which now takes a couple of minutes, as opposed to a few
seconds in 13.10).

I hope the logs gives enough details, but essentially, I suspended my
machine and it never came back when I tried to resume it. During suspend
the screen was black, but the processor fan was still runnint.
