I ran after migrating from 12.10 to 13.04 in the same problem. When I have in the nsswitch.conf for the hosts resolution the entry ldap the system hangs after the reboot directly after the init-bottom script.
This worked in 12.10 and before. In the nsswitch.conf I had: hosts: file dns mdns4 ldap this didnt work. When I changed it to hosts: file dns mdns4 It came up again. I hope that helps....
