14 months later, now Jan 2022, the same issue still persists with two different NVidia Quadro cards. Exact same symptoms, random freeze of the graphics screen. Mouse and Keyboard unresponsive. Sound and microphone continue to work, for example, I can continue the Zoom meeting with only audio. The moment the freeze occurred is totally unpredictable, could be +1 day or 2 hours.
- Ubuntu 20.04.3 - Video cards: Quadro NVS 310 and Quadro K600 - This issue occur whether the driver is nouveau. I have tried to use the proprietary nvidia 470 which didn't fix the problem. Sorry no detailed diagnostic info (I don't know how to get these). But by the similarities of the issue, I think it is the same than what OP reported.
