The actual way to get to the kernel command line (the one looking like "linux
/boot/vmlinuz-linux
About problems with the keyboard and/or touchpad, try disabling fast
boot in the BIOS, or passing the "i8042.reset" parameter to the kernel
command line.
It looks like the fast boot option won't initialize the keyboard
controller (http://wiki.osdev.org/%228042%22_PS/2_Controller) into a
state
For people "irritated", please take into account that there's no point
in complaining here at the moment.
There's a driver for this particular hardware in the making from people
associated to Conexant. Patches were posted to the alsa devel mailing
list on December 2016:
