I wanted to detail that I had the DVD drive on a separate SCSI controller
so I just removed the controller not just the DVD drive.
Maybe this is different.

I never enable integration service with Linux guests: I never trust the
host :D :D
But that also means that disabling integration service in itself was not
enough - at least for me!

Instead of applying a half-baked fixed kernel (comment 30), remove
virtual DVD drive from all your 15 servers. They will work!

Kernel 4.4.0-72 is foobar'd (at least) on Hyper-V, I have a VM that I
checkpoint every single day, the last working checkpoint was on
2014.03.27.
When I apply checkpoint and update, I hi the same issue: boot stops for
long at:
random: nonblocking pool is initialized
...then it spits lots of erro
