I had the same problem with a Satellite L755 (Intel only, no NVIDIA) and solved it by creating this file: /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf Giving it the following: Section "Device" Identifier "card0" Driver "intel" Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight"

I am helping an individual remotely that has 3 of these Toshiba Tecra A9 laptops, all with Ubuntu 12.04.5, and all having the resume from suspend failure described here. So I am re-opening the bug as we have access to someone that can help to give more information. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
