I've now tested kernels 4.15.0-39, 4.15.0-45, 4.15.0-50, 4.15.0-54, 4.15.0-55 and all have the same behaviour - so this does not seem to be a kernel issue after all. I unplugged everything and tested suspend/resume on 5.0.0-25-generic which now works. Tested suspend/resume after each device was re
