I think this has been fixed by updating the OS to Xubuntu 21.10 (& associated kernel) & the Bios to 1.3.0. I also had to keep the sleep mode in s2idle -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu.
