I'm using a Dell XPS 9560 and found that booting with kernel 5.3.0-45
avoids IntelliJ's IDE (PhpStorm) to trigger the GPU hang, while the
workaround on comment #82 to doesn't make any difference when using
kernel 5.3.0-46 or 5.3.0-51.

Same issue here, consistently triggered by PhpStorm (it's an IDE similar
to PyCharm).

I'm seeing the same issue on a Dell XPS 9560, which is basically the
same laptop as the Precision 5520 with a different GPU.

I'm seeing this problem too on Ubuntu 16.04.2.
The same USB Ethernet adapter works reliably on the same laptop using Windows
with no additional drivers.
