I do not really know how to do that. I have never used a PCMCIA card
and my computer is a laptop, so I cannot phisically uninstall the PCMCIA
slot. Maybe I can configure it on the BIOS? I have not been able to find
any information about booting without PCMCIA.

Hi! I upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10 and have the same problem. I launch
linux-image-3.11.0-12-generic in safe mode and it freezes by pcmcia_socket:
cs: I0 port probe excluding.
I have to boot with linux-image-3.8.0-31-generic
I am willing to help to solve the issue but I don't really know what
