Thanks elguavas! With both the trackpad and trackpoint disabled I can
now boot linux-image-5.13.0-20-generic. I can still move the cursor with
the trackpad and do mouse clicks with the trackpad (not the buttons).
Cold reboot requires exiting bios with the save option as others have
mentioned.

I have the same hardware as rudolfharney. Kernel panic still happening
in linux-image-5.13.0-20-generic even after rudulf's suggestion "start
BIOS, exit with SAVE=YES". Also, disabling the trackpad doesn't prevent
the panic.

So the bug is confirmed. It appears to fixed by compiling the kernel
without the kbuild flag `-fcf-protection=none` .
