1st plugging after system start up.
but with different conditions:
- I have to download driver from Canon site : Canon MX320 series Ver.3.10
(since Lucid didn't provide MX series driver), which is different from driver
used
chris, for regression testing purposes, could you please test for this
in Lucid http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/ and advise on
the results?

No need to restart. Strange...just replug then it'll be ready.
Perhaps behavior in the end of comment #49 could be a hint. Printer &
fax status (usually) switched after replugging cable.

I've learned creating bootable flashdisk & I've just tried 13.10 daily.
Can't say that this bug is fixed since 13.10 generates different
behavior. Printer & fax status are always idle even cable unplugged. If
cable plugged then it will do printing. But if cable unplugged then no
job is sending & p

I also have to say sorry to revise comment #44. The behavior looks like
inconsistent, sometimes printer is on while plugging for
chris, could you please test for this in Saucy via
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and advise on if this is
still reproducible? No need to perform an apport-collect at this time.
