FWIW, I've noticed similar video corruption when attempting to install
13.10 deskop (either 32 or 64) in a freshly created Hyper-V install on
Windows 2008 R2. The video's all screwy.

Thanks, but desctop option was necessary to me and I think to remaining
users too. I will worry, but the problem can have mass character and at
least looks very strange from all directions.
