I did upgrade the BIOS a few weeks ago when I was running 13.10. Unfortunately, this didn't change anything. I am now running 14.04 with the latest apt-get and the results are the same. > What happened? Upon cold boot or restart, the screen brightness is set to maximum even if my setting wasn't.
