I have at last updated the BIOS on my Asus Eee 901 and the error message
I was getting has gone. However, the computer is slow to react and the
shut down dialogue (when it comes up first after a delay) is greyed
out. It eventually goes solid but is slow to react. Also

an update is available for your BIOS (2103). If you update to this, does
it change anything?
If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of
the following terminal
