There are several issues with this laptop. The outer screen is one.
Others are:
The right-click button does not work on the touch pad, so I use a wireless
mouse as a work around.
The mini-vga port does not work fully with an HP 23 IPS LED screeen. No work
around yet. I`ll try the mini HDMI

issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images
are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . This
would allow for testing of the latest userspace and keyboard input code
available
Tested Lucid. Results are the same.

please advise on how your external monitor is connected (ex. VGA, DVI,
HDMI, etc.)?
As well, for regression testing purposes, could you please test for this
in Lucid via http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/ and
As I wrote in my first post, I did test it with 3.13-rc3 mainline
kernel. It is the latest one presented.
