Public bug reported: On boot Ubuntu 14.04 does not always initialise the keyboard or mouse correctly. So a logon password cannot be entered. Sometimes if the mouse pad is working it is possible to switch to the guest account and then back to a user account to get the keyboard working. Sometimes after that the mousepad stops working.
