This is the first time I have ever seen this problem with any version of
Ubuntu on the DELL XPS M1210.
Previously versions up to and including Ubuntu 13.10 worked just fine.
Perhaps I should say that I did not perform a clean install. I used the
Software Updater to 'upgrade' to 14.
Terry Relph-Knight, did this problem not occur in a release prior to
