kernels on ageing Pentium Ms, which say they don't support PAE but in
fact do so without problem. An additional boot parameter (forcepae)

I can't run anything newer than 12.04 because support for my CPU has
been withdrawn. It doesn' t have the Physical Address Extension feature
(PAE) required.
