I can confirm that this bug still exists in Trusty.
Really a pity for a LTS.

I have tried kernel 3.14.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 and then hci0 was finally up
and I could connect it to my old wiimote, but since my main goal was to
connect to the new Wii U pro controller and it didn't pair, I decided to
buy a new bluetooth adapter. This time, I reverted the kernel to the

Repeating information from the original bug:
The bugzilla bug (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60824)
says that it's working since 3.14.1
This is the commit where it's fixed:
Nothing new on this issue? (I'm having the same problem, with the same
device). Don't have ANY time on my hands ATM to try upstream kernels,
just looking for a quick fix

Thanks for the reply Chrisopher!
I don't really have time to reverse commit bisect. I'm trying to fix
another issue with my second monitor, I can't make it work in a decent
resolution.

Could someone answer my questions?
My questions were:
1) I noticed the bios-outdated-62cn97ww tag. Should I boot into Windows 8 to
update the bios?
2) Should I remove the upstream kernel and get back to original kernel version?
Regards

Sebastián Perruolo:
1) Yes.
2) That's up to you.
Despite this, the next step is to fully reverse commit bisect in order
to identify the offending commit. Could you please do this following

I had Ubuntu 12.04 before 14.04. Then this bluetooth dongle worked well
enough. I needed to remove the dongle and put it again in order to get
it work.
I'll try the upstream kernel. I'll be in touch.

I installed upstream kernel v3.15-rc3-utopic [0]. Bluetooth is working
with this kernel so I add the tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream' and marked
