i just tested with current stable 3.13.0-32-generic again.
Everything works fine, no lags occur.

first i recommend to remove the Gigabyte mainboard from the title, because it
does not cause the issue.
My network interface card is a TP-LINK WND4800, which is connected via a PCI

However, i just tested 3.12.0, 3.12.15 and 3.13.0 to proove my idea.
All of them worked fine, no error occured while manually scanning, because they
are mainline kernels.
Just for the record: in the working Kernel 3.11 (the last stable official
