Hi,
Just purchased an ASUS N550JK and experience the same problem. Wireless
works, but no network via ethernet.
Reverting to 3.13 kernel series would not be my preferred solution.
Seems more like a workaround than a fix.
Any ideas how to fix this on 14.04 running on 3.16 kernel?

PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 0c)
With standard installation of Ubuntu 14.04.1 the ethernet card is NOT working.
Nevertheless I did try 3.16.7-031607-generic and 3.18
[Expired for linux (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60
days.]

I've tried it, no luck, same behaviour. For completeness I'm including
some output below. Meanwhile I went back to the packaged kernel
(3.13.0-29-generic). Any more suggestions?
