I also have a ThinkPad X220 that is exhibiting the same symptoms. It is running the latest BIOS. (1.39). I am running kernel 3.13.0-35-generic #62~precise1-Ubuntu and xserver-xorg-video-intel-lts-trusty 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1~precise1. I moved the drive from a ThinkPad X201s (Core i7 but previous gen
