One more very weird thing: when I use the keyboard to increase or
decrease screen brightness, the laptop goes to sleep. This didn't happen
before.
I checked "systemsettings/shortcuts and gestures" but this seems ok:
"decrease sceen brightness -> monitor brightness down"

As you can also see in the 'mainline kernel install log' attachment,
since this same update, I also have a graphics driver problem: no more
opengl/hardware accelleration, with all of the 3 driver options (fglrx,
