The kernel panic happens on the mainline kernel 3.16 - 4.2. The kernel 3.13 (Linux 3.13.11-0313-generic) won't panic, but the builtin wifi is not very stable. However, I tested kernel 4.3 these days, everything works fine. My uname: Linux zenozeng-Surface-Pro-2 4.3.0-040300rc1-generic
