The kernel panic happens on the mainline kernel 3.16 - 4.2.
The kernel 3.13 (Linux 3.13.11-0313-generic) won't panic, but the builtin
wifi is not very stable.
However, I tested kernel 4.3 these days, everything works fine.
My uname: Linux zenozeng-Surface-Pro-2 4.3.0-040300rc1-generic

wolfy1339, the next step is to fully commit bisect from kernel 3.16 to
3.19 in order to identify the last good kernel commit, followed
immediately by the first bad one. This will allow for a more expedited
analysis of the root cause of your issue. Could you please do this

I am using Ubuntu 15.04 on a Surface Pro (1st gen), dual-boting with Windows
8.1 and the linux kernel 3.19 is causing a kernel panic. The last kernel
working was 3.16.0-38.
I couldn't get any stack-trace (maybe apport has one), since my computer
