Sorry, my netbook had become totally unusable (the keyboard was unresponsive on
specific websites, the CPU invariably between 85% and 100% aetc etc) and I
couldn't afford waiting for another kernel release in the unlikely hope that
this would resolve the matter.
I simple made a fresh re-install

will do that, as soon as 4.7 turns into a stable release.
I just prefer that way, if you have nothing against it.

This is an upgrade of LXLE (lxle.net) from 12.04 to 14.04.
The installation has been done by leaving the /home partition intact and
installing the 14.04 upon the re-formatted /boot and /root and /swap
WIll try to install the Kernel tonight or worst case on Monday.

And yes, the issue started after the upgrade. I didn't have any problems
with the 12.04. I am sorry I do not re-call which version of the Kernel
I was running on 12.04
