I no longer use Cinnamon, I still use Blueberry, and it works with
4.7rc3. However, I must switch each pulseaudio stream manually to the
bluetooth device after it has connected, it doesn't switch
automatically.

Yes. However I had to re add all my devices. And there is STILL no
bluetooth icon on the panel

OK got the computer to boot with the mainline kernel. Not only does
bluetooth audio not work, but now Cinnamon crashes on startup, and I've
lost my dual head setup.

Does this issue go away if you boot back into the prior kernel version?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
