I suspect the original reporter's "bug" was also caused by the same
incorrect BIOS setting, given that it is a very similar model to mine.

Touchpad not working in
Christopher. I removed myself from the "affects me" list. Was not a bug.
In the case of my Acer Aspire the issue was caused by incorrect settings
in the BIOS for touch pad legacy support.
