Don't know if this will help, but I heard that Ubuntu Mate does something different with their network stack, so I switched (Ubuntu Mate 16.10). I had this same wifi drop with both Unity and Gnome 3, but have had pretty much no issues on Ubuntu Mate -- one crash in a week, and I'm not even sure tha

Not a full bisection yet but I have narrowed it down: I looked at all kernel versions that had changes committed to iwlwifi and tested between them. I now have determined that I do not have this issue in the kernel version 4.4.4. I do have the issue in 4.4.6 and that is the next kernel version t

drwt, the next step is to fully commit bisect from kernel 3.19 to 4.4 in order to identify the last good kernel commit, followed immediately by the first bad one.
