Can you specify what version you reverted back to? The only thing that changed from 1.157.7 to 1.157.8 is the firmware for the usbduxsigma driver. Is this driver loaded on your system? To find out you can open a terminal and run "lsmod | grep usbduxsigma"; if there's any output from that command you have the driver loaded, otherwise you do not.
