At this time you can use the installer in -proposed, once the kernel in
-proposed gets promoted to -updates (typically within ~5 weeks) you can
use the installer from -updates. Here is the link to the installer in
Xenial-updates:

I'd like to submit an SRU request to have commit f36ea50ca004 included
in Xenial. However, I wanted to check an see if it is also needed in
the newer Ubuntu releases as well.
Commit f36ea50ca004 was included in mainline as of v4.12-rc1. It
