Unfortunately I am not an advanced user to provide information like the
above (I don't even understand these), but I do know that I want to help
and I do know that Ubuntu 17.10 is the first (I am using ubuntu since
11.04) that I cannot afford (it is worse than windows!).

I'm seeing frequent freezes on kernel 4.13.0-16-generic. No issues when
using 4.10.0-38-generic.

Though I did not install until it was officially released. I dislike
alphas, and betas. However I see the appeal. I just always been the type
to install an official release only so I don't have to deal with these
types of issues on a clearly unstable OS revision.

As I have said multiple people have had these freezing issues. However a
lot of them have found solutions. Their solutions have not worked for
me, and it appears multiple people have had this has been going on since
the alpha & beta of 17.10

Sorry I can not test/ install the latest upstream kernel because of my
wifi drivers. As you can see in order to test/ install the kernel
version I have to disable, and uninstall proprietary drivers. My
broadcom wireless drivers fall into that category.

Yes it started after the upgrade to 17.10, and the prior kernel where I
was not having this issue was 17.04
