I tried ubuntu 16, 17 and 18. None of them were able to recongize my touchpad 
at all.
I tried to boot from a windows installation USB, the touchpad worked right away.

Note: I got the touchpad manufacturer and model (Elan0618) by installing
Windows to get more info as Ubuntu was unable to detect the touchpad at
all.
