Hello.
I have the same laptop.. It malfunctions all the time. The touchpad has to be
used slowly or it freezes. and I am unable to drag and select/move text..
I can see there was a simillar bug to this..

Hello. I am running the same os, on the same laptop.. On my case besides having
the move the mouse slowly it prevents me from clicking and dragging.. or from
selecting text..

2) I'll give it a try, but I had troubles installing a working ubuntu
kernel version to start looking for the version that
you should've installed linux-image-extra for 4.13.0-19.22, testing
without it doesn't prove a thing

I can confirm that the touchpad DOES work as expected in ubuntu 17.10
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ uname -a

So it is indeed a regression introduced somewhere between 17.10 and 18.04
