Yesterday my distribution updated to Ubuntu 18.04.3 and thanks to the
new kernel the touchpad is recognized and perfectly working.

sorry for the delay, was working on something else for the last SRU
cycle.
While preparing a cover letter for patching this into our 4.18 Cosmic
kernel, I am a bit hesitated as the diff in this commit [1] is
relatively big for fixing a (well, several models actually) touchpad

The kernel 4.18.0-18 was officially released. It does not have your
patch (my touch-pad does not work).
Could I know on which kernel for Ubuntu 18.04 will be applied your
