Public bug reported: After upgrading to (X)Ubuntu 19.04, there is a steady (~85bpm) popping/clicking noise in headphones when not playing anything. If some application is playing audio, the popping does not happen, but if playback stops, the popping returns. Downgrading to 18.10 makes the noise go away. Also did not happen in 18.04 or 17.10.
Sound hardware: 0a:00.3 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Family 17h (Models 00h-0fh) HD Audio Controller Using the front analog output. Using "load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0" as suggested in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/PositionReporting did not fix the problem. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-sound -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1825754 Title: Popping in headphones when no sound is playing after upgrade to ubuntu 19.04 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: After upgrading to (X)Ubuntu 19.04, there is a steady (~85bpm) popping/clicking noise in headphones when not playing anything.
