No matter what I do, no "enter password" box pops up. The screen just stays black and the only thing I can do is to shut the computer down by holding down the power button. This happens regardless of whether an external monitor is connected. My apologies if I didn't report this correctly or left out anything important; I am just an end user and not an expert.
