I'm still having issues with this driver on Kernels later than 5.11
installed with Ubuntu Mainline - can it be the case that these drivers
are not set for those?
Here is a full dmesg output:

It appears that if I switch from Wayland to X in Ubuntu 21.10 (Impish
Indri), the audio works fine, including wired headphones.
Is this a problem with Wayland somehow or just coincidence?

On a Dell XPS 17 9710 the audio sort of works, but it sounds very "thin"
like the bass is missing. But wired headphones do not work at all, no
sound at all.

please wait for the formal 5.11.0-generic kernel of the next cycle.

All patches were backported from sofproject or upstream kernel, and
maybe the kconfig is not same when building the sof kernel and
