with the new Bios update to version F.08 the installation works again. I
think this is another case where the manufacturers are unable to program
working firmware. The right address for the bug report was hp not
Canonical. It is definitely my last hp laptop.

Hello, I currently have the same problem with Kernel 5.15 when

My laptop is an Hp ENVY x360 Convertible 15-eu0xxx.
I have secure boot disabled in the bios and I have been unable to
install Ubuntu 22.04.

I also have the same issue on my HP Aero 13-be0xxx (AMD Ryzen 5 5600U).
Strangely enough, but the system always boots just fine if I insert a USB-drive
into laptop's Type-C port. Works for both the live/installer system and the
installed one.
The Type-A ports don't do this magic, only the Type-C

I have tried further boot cycles with the 5.15.0-40 kernel, abutnd have
not been able to achieve successful boot consistently. The problem is
the same for 5.15.0-41.
I may have been too hasty to conclude the problem is resolved in the
more recent kernel versions (patch levels).

Before the recent UEFI update form 20.03.2022 the install was possible.

HP ENVY x360 with Ryzen 3700U 15-ds0xxx (2019):
Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04 works without issues.
Ubuntu 22.04 never gets past animated boot logo screen, stays there,
turning, waiting indefinitely. I'm booting in Legacy mode.
Notes: My network boot is disabled in UEFI, so that does not help. Safe

In my case not even safe graphics works.
The live USB sometimes just boots, and sometimes it doesn't. More often
doesn't though.
The same happens to installed system.
Tried upgrading 20.04 to 22.04, same thing happens.

The screenshot in comment #1 is a crash in the kernel's 'typec' or
'typec_usci' modules. Sounds like that might be unrelated to graphics
problems, in which case the crash could be ignored.
