Public bug reported: Today I have updated from 20.04 to 22.04. Now it is impossible to connect to ALMAWIFI that is my university wifi network. Being this part of EDUROAM, I strongly suspect that EDUROAM has been broken as well.
The system seems to be able to connect to regular wifi networks, such as my mobile phone hotspot. However the connection to this site using WPA2 enterprise, PEAP and MSCHAP2 has now become impossible. The network manager applet keeps asking for the network password without being able to establish a connection. On the dmesg log I see: send auth to 34:62:88:c9:44:8e (try 1/3) [ 322.806267] wlan0: authenticated [ 322.806853] wlan0: VHT capa missing/short, disabling VHT/HE/EHT [ 322.807003] wlan0: associate with 34:62:88:c9:44:8e (try 1/3) [ 322.911089] wlan0: associate with 34:62:88:c9:44:8e (try 2/3) [ 322.913192] wlan0: RX AssocResp from 34:62:88:c9:44:8e (capab=0x101 status=12 aid=0) [ 322.913208] wlan0: 34:62:88:c9:44:8e denied association (code=12) [ 333.076375] wlan0: authenticate with 34:62:88:c9:44:8e [ 333.076416] wlan0: bad VHT capabilities, disabling VHT [ 333.076421] wlan0: Invalid HE elem, Disable HE [ 333.080260] wlan0: send auth to 34:62:88:c9:44:8e (try 1/3) [ 333.110076] wlan0: authenticated [ 333.110537] wlan0: VHT capa missing/short, disabling VHT/HE/EHT [ 333.114179] wlan0: associate with 34:62:88:c9:44:8e (try 1/3) [ 333.117425] wlan0: RX AssocResp from 34:62:88:c9:44:8e (capab=0x111 status=0 aid=3) [ 333.126642] wlan0: associated [ 333.152883] wlan0: Limiting TX power to 23 (23 - 0) dBm as advertised by 34:62:88:c9:44:8e [ 348.360075] wlan0: deauthenticating from 34:62:88:c9:44:8e by local choice (Reason: 3=DEAUTH_LEAVING) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: linux-image-generic 5.15.0.35.38 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.15.0-35.36-generic 5.15.35 Uname: Linux 5.15.0-35-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.1 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: callegar 1592 F.... pulseaudio CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Fri Jun 3 15:54:17 2022 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-02-16 (838 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 19.10 "Eoan Ermine" - Release amd64 (20191017) IwConfig: lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. wlan0 no wireless extensions.
