I can confirm that this bug in also present in Linux Mint 17.2 (based upon Ubuntu 14.04) as early as August 25th 2015. I can also confirm that the previous workaround worked works like a charm. Seems that the weird behavior is somewhat related to the Centrino wireless adapter... Thanks, Julian
