In Bento Openbox 14.04.3, this bug shows in the $HOME/.xsession-errors. The real issue is that if there is no background on top of the root background, the Openbox menu does not show. The issue is solved by removing the scim packages: scim scim-gtk-immodule scim-im-agent scim-modules-socket
Once these packages are removed the Openbox right-click menu shows again, even on a root background (which is sometimes desirable when it's about reducing the load on the system by all means possible on old computers). Thanks for fixing it! ** Summary changed: - Failed to load x11 FrontEnd module + Failed to load x11 FrontEnd module because of scim -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407597 Title: Failed to load x11 FrontEnd module because of scim Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Karmic testing First warning in .xsession-errors just after booting: only boinc 6.4.5 in background Failed to load x11 FrontEnd module Then i open Firefox and new warnings come up: (nautilus:3647): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/407597/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
