I can confirm the bug on a LG T1 Express Dual laptop. Had the same issue
trying to install 14.04 from a Live USB stick. I got stuck due to the
non-working keyboard during the install process and cannot currently install,

Yes it seems that it is using too much CPU. However, running "top" shows that
Totem is only using about 25% to 30% CPU, so top does not detect too much CPU
usage. Also the CPU usage doesn't change much whether totem runs full screen or
in a window.

Yes, those would be helpful although now I think understanding EC's BIOS
(seabios I assume?) may be more important. Neither I nor Stefan have
been able to reproduce this problem and it seems that EC does something
in BIOS (and possibly qemu) that may not be available in vanilla Xen,

I think I understand the problem. No package in the linux-signed-generic
chain of dependencies actually depends on linux-firmware.
