Thanks. I'll take a look at it as soon as I get a chance.

Wayne, You've released the source tarball against the RC1 milestone.
I'd delete it from there and re-release it against the RC2 milestone.
Best Regards,
Brian.

Martin,
I've expressed my concerns about your proposal in the bug tracker but I
will elaborate on that on the dev mailing list so other devs can give
you there feedback as well. Your proposed changes may solve your
immediate problem but the present more of their own. What I am
proposing is a
No hurry. Just something to think about before the stable release. Thanks.

I just check this an on windows using process viewer and KIPRJMOD is set
to path where the board file is located. If there is no pro file and
the path is writable, pcbnew will create a default pro in the same path.

Yes, this can be done very easily. There is already binaries on
http://docs.kicad-pcb.org/ that can be downloaded as a zip or tar.gz
file. I might try to tage some with an rc2 tag to prepare everything
and every packager. I forgot to do that, but probably tomorrow.

Hi folks!
What's the thought process here on making builds for RC and 4.0.x builds?
I should probably have another job in the Mac Jenkins builder that just
watches the 4.0 line, and when there are updates, it builds another build
and pushes it somewhere on downloads.kicad-pcb.org--but not in the
Hello,
I've got no opinions, so I implemented the patch(es). Please look at it.
I've tested it with LTSpiceIV and NgSpice, and they both now work without a
problem with the standard KiCad components. No special components for
simulation purposes are needed.
Best regards,
Martin.

This should be correct now. Thanks for the heads up.

IFAIK, the autoplace routine uses the board outline bounding box which
will be a rectangle created by merging all of the outline drawing items
so the results you are seeing are not surprising. The autoplace tool is
very crude. We would have to move to a fully polygonal design to
accomplish what

What I did for the windows build was to make a new package description
file which used the tarballs and I can just edit that and rerun
manually.
So yes, I think creating another job for it is a good/easy way to
handle it. Because there are multiple "independent" repos it might not
be ideal to
Wayne,
thank you for your reaction. Here I'll state how I see it and comment your
answer.
At first, I'd like to say that I tried to make no revolution, but only to
extend the functionality that already IS in KiCad the same way it is
implemented NOW. I can imagine a better realisation of the
I just jumped directly to https://launchpad.net/kicad and hovering on
the download links on the right you can see those links.

Hi Bernhard,
Yes, there is a plan. In short:
- Port the remaining features of the "legacy" canvas such as component
auto-placement or
