just in case anyone has any usage for this:
I've written a QFP Footprint wizard using the FootprintWizardPlugin Python
class (see attachment). If there are any problems with the wizard I'm happy
to help.

One thing I would love to see is the possibility of displaying a
vector graphic (e.g. DXF) under the pcb in pcbnew.
With this given I could display a picture of the case which will be
holding the pcb. This would ease the process of creating
mounting-holes and an outline fitting into the case.
