Thomas, as a new user, I actually do not agree. I would prefer some "tips"
activated at startup (rotate through a bunch or present them when an applicable
command is triggered).
I'm sure this is a subject that has been discussed before, and our conversation
here may be taken under advisement. J
I think using "zoom as center of zoom" by default would be the better
default choise, because it's the one most users are used too by other
software as well. From the people I know, everyone changes this settings
as one of their first actions.

Thank you for this! I think this is one of the things that make newcomers
confused about the UI. Another is the pan cursor to zoom center. But I really
like that functionality for mouse only navigation. You can turn it off then you
have the more common "zoom using cursor as center of zoom". Whic
