This build of the program is very unstable. Working in Reports and then
switching to another section such as Home or Budgets will cause the program to
crash and sometimes saving the data file with 0 bytes

It is creating one transaction for each split. I agree about the confusion over
how we display splits. At the end of the day I think the way GnuCash displays
split transactions in their ledger is a superior
