Location: Herndon, VA Duration: 6+ months Rate: DOE/HR **Note: The manager has hired one candidate off of this requisition and is looking to hire one more.** HAMP-MUST BE US CITIZEN OR GREENCARD ONLY. *Performance Test Engineer**|**Position Description About Investor Reporting 2 (IR2): Investor Reporting 2 is a medium-scale, high-performance transaction mortgage and loan processing system to support the government’s loan modification program, one of the major workstreams of Homeowners Affordability and Stability Plan (HASP). The application is being developed using proven technologies, including PL/SQL, ORACLE, Ab-Initio and Java in complex combinations following established and proven methodologies and practices for the development. About the Team: The Performance and System Test team has 4 broad functions: 1. System Test: Responsible for planning, designing and execution and validation of results for System Test. 2. Performance Test: Responsible for planning, designing and execution and validation of results for Performance Test. 3. Production Support: Responsible for supporting the application in production, ensuring operational processes and procedures are followed. 4. Infrastructure: Responsible for identifying and managing the infrastructure needs of the project. About the position: Based on the project needs and priorities, Performance test engineer will carry out planning activities like analysis of non-functional requirements, development of performance test scenarios and risk identification; collaborate with different functional and technical supports groups on various technical issues related to performance of the application; identify and construct test scenarios/sequence; generate test data files by writing/modifying in-house PL/SQL data generation packages; perform test execution including executing/monitoring test scenarios, and analyzing/validating/reporting results. Performance Test Engineer will also mentor other team members and follow-up on administrative issues. Responsibilities: Understand business**§** requirements and develop test cases 2 to 5 years experience in performance**§** tuning and benchmarking on large volume systems (primarily with PL/SQL and Oracle). Execute and test the functional scenarios for a test effort.**§** Work with development, Business, QA, and Automation engineers to determine* *§** root cause of batch job execution problems. Provide design documentation;**§** participate in technical review for the test automation projects. Must**§** have excellent problem solving skills and be capable of breaking down complex situations to discover and resolve root causes, this applies to both technical issues and process issues. Provide metrics and project planning updates**§** for the testing effort. Qualifications: Must-Have Skills: **§** Experience of at least 8 years in testing including test case creation, automation, execution and validation of results. Demonstrated ability to**§** perform simple data analyses and data validation by writing SQL queries, especially for Oracle database Prior hands-on experience of working in**§** Unix env. Familiarity with common UNIX shell commands a must Basic Unix**§** Shell scripting skills Exposure to PL/SQL batch processing and Oracle**§** Collections desirable. Familiarity with mortgage business**§** **§** Performance Engineering and Testing experience in any of the following areas: PL/SQL - explain plan, tracking, tkprof, parallelism in SQL , partitioning* *§** in SQL, partition pruning, nested loop VS hash joins, collections (index-by-tables, nested loops, varrays). General - monitoring memory**§** using SAR, CPU monitoring, disk I/O monitoring, I/O balancing. Volumetric**§** Analysis. Capacity Planning.**§** Performance Simulation and modeling.**§** Must have a solid understanding of the SDLC, configuration management, and* *§** release cycles. Experience with ClearCase/ClearQuest preferred. Excellent**§** verbal communications and teaming skills. Attention to details and quick learner Due to nature of the effort flexibility to move between different sub**§**teams is a must Ability to work in shifts and/or longer hours when**§** required Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines**§** Nice to Have Skills: Experience of technically leading teams**§** of 4-6 people is a big plus Advanced Unix scripting**§** Experience**§** writing simple to moderate PL/SQL routines.
